Production Planner

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Production Planner. This role is based at the Orchard Park, NY facility. The expected annual salary range for this role is $69,000 - $101,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Production Planner. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility and partners with manufacturing operations, procurement, engineering, and quality teams to support assigned value streams. The role is responsible for executing planning activities aligned with defined lean inventory, production, and procurement strategies, including capacity planning and production and/or material scheduling. Job Responsibilities Planning and scheduling of material in accordance with the needs of the master production schedule (MPS). Cooperate with procurement and business administration to ensure timely throughput of product. Expedite and communicate issues in a timely basis. Conduct finite capacity planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with the needs of the MPS, producing & releases internal work orders schedules & monitor performance to plan. Develop production schedules for internal manufacturing operations for a series of production Workcenters to achieve the requirements of the master production schedule. Optimize capacity, with minimal inventory and to ensure delivery to our customers on time. Strategically set and manage all planning elements (parameters/rules) associated with all assigned manufactured parts, and coordinate any outside processing associated with those parts. Work with Engineering to identify alternatives supporting production requirements while optimizing cost & inventory reductions. Monitor shrinkage, yield, BOM accuracy, scrap factors to support cross functional continuous improvement projects. Plan and sequence material inflows in such a way as to maintain inventory at planned levels while applying SOF principles to ensure that inventories are sized and balanced at the optimum levels throughout the supply chain. Inventory: responsible for effectively executing functional supply and demand material plans, ensuring right part, right place, right time with minimal inventory. Conduct inactive, obsolete, and surplus analysis on all parts and drive root cause, corrective action and disposition strategy. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Associate’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technical or related field from an accredited institute with minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain working in a manufacturing environment OR High school diploma/GED from an accredited institution with minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain working in a manufacturing environment. No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience working as a planner, scheduler, production control, or buyer within a technology company (ideally mechanical/aerospace). APICS certified or regional equivalent. Position Criteria Willingness to obtain professional certification in the area of Supply Chain Management (APICS) or regional equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge/experience of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and short/medium term capacity requirements. Solid knowledge of impact to/of Supply Chain activities including Procurement, Warehousing, and Outside Processes. Practical knowledge/understanding of Lean Supply Chain concepts and application.
