PCU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological diagnoses (epilepsy, stroke, MS, Guillain-Barre, myasthenia gravis, traumatic brain injury) Monitor and manage patients with lumbar drains and external ventricular drains (EVDs) Administer and titrate cardiac and insulin drips; manage central and peripheral lines; deliver neuro stepdown care Perform blood product administration, phlebotomy, and IV therapy Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services) Document and chart patient care using EPIC EMR Maintain strict isolation precautions and infection control protocols Float to other nursing units within the OSU healthcare system as needed PCU RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state RN license required at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, Progressive Care, or Med-Surg nursing Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for PCU nursing jobs) Proficient with EPIC charting system Previous travel nurse experience preferred Ability to float to various units within the healthcare organization Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions considered) Two professional references (one from a manager, director, or charge RN) Benefits 401K with Matching, Healthcare, Dental and Vision About GHR With over 30 years of healthcare staffing experience, GHR Healthcare is your trusted partner in finding the perfect contract or permanent role in the healthcare industry.
