• Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night shift — 3x12 Hours (18:45–07:15)

Job Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse opportunity in the Cardiac Telemetry unit, requiring a floating commitment as needed — with potential to float every shift. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for cardiac patients on a telemetry unit
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage remote monitoring
• Perform Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery care
• Perform Sheath Removal (Sheaths Pulls, TR Bands, Femstop)
• Access ports and administer blood products
• Manage central lines and PICC lines
• Titrate cardiac drips including Diltiazem and Amiodarone; administer cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine
• Care for patients with diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and Post Cardiac Cath
• Follow self-scheduling per unit needs
• Adhere to strict RTO policy: no RTO after booking; no working out onsite — call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in contract cancellation and DNR
• Report to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments as directed

Required Skills

• Telemetry AND PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath experience
• Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery experience
• Sheath Removal experience
• Accessing ports
• Blood Product Administration
• Central Line/care management
• PICC line management
• Cardiac drip titration — Diltiazem and Amiodarone
• Proficiency with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR

Preferred Skills

• Charge nurse experience

Education Requirements

• ACLS certification required
• NIH certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience — required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Floating required as needed; potential to float every shift
• Patient ratios: 1:5–6
• Night shift only — 36 hours per week (36 hours ONLY can be offered)
• Weekend requirement: 5–6 weekend shifts (equates to every other weekend)
• Unit orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Not provided — Navy color required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required
• Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments — contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Important Notes

• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty — this is a pre-start requirement
• Manager (NM) interview is required prior to finalizing the offer
• RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite; any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR
• RTO maximum: 7 days for AYA Auto Offer
• Scheduling type: Self, per unit needs; 13–26 week contracts accepted
