Description

Assembly Manager Opportunities

Multiple Shifts Available (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

Full-Time

On-Site

Leadership does not begin with a title. It begins with how you support the people around you.

Lead by example. Help people grow. Take the next step.

At POLYWOOD, we believe some of the best leaders are already making a difference before they are ever given a formal leadership title.

They are the employees others go to for help. They train new team members, solve problems, set a positive example, and help keep the team focused.

As our Roxboro operation continues to grow, we are looking for Assembly Area Leaders who are ready to take the next step in their leadership careers.

The Assembly Area Leader serves as a hands-on leader within an assigned production area. This position supports the Supervisor, guides employees through daily priorities, and helps the team meet safety, quality, and production goals.

The Work You Will Love Doing

As an Assembly Area Leader, you will work closely with employees on the production floor.

You will help organize the work, answer questions, reinforce expectations, train employees, and respond when something is keeping the team from being successful.

You will be a visible leader who earns trust by being consistent, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to work alongside the team.

Where You Will Make an Impact
  • Support the Supervisor with daily operations in an assigned assembly area
  • Help communicate production goals, priorities, and changes to employees
  • Lead by example in safety, quality, attendance, teamwork, and productivity
  • Assist with shift startup activities and daily employee assignments
  • Train and support new employees as they learn their jobs
  • Coach employees on standard work, quality expectations, and safe work practices
  • Answer employee questions and help resolve day-to-day production concerns
  • Monitor work progress and communicate concerns to the Supervisor
  • Help identify safety risks, quality concerns, material shortages, and equipment issues
  • Support changeovers, workflow adjustments, and staffing needs
  • Encourage teamwork and help maintain a positive work environment
  • Recognize employees who are performing well and provide constructive feedback when improvement is needed
  • Help employees understand expectations and how their work affects the larger team
  • Support documentation, communication, and follow-up as directed by the Supervisor
  • Help identify employees who may be ready for additional training or future leadership opportunities
What You Bring

You have manufacturing or production experience and understand the importance of safety, quality, teamwork, and meeting daily goals.

Other employees already look to you for help, guidance, or answers. You enjoy training others, solving problems, and helping the team stay organized.

You are ready to take on more responsibility and continue developing your leadership skills.

Successful candidates will bring:

  • Experience working in manufacturing, production, assembly, warehousing, or a similar environment
  • Experience as a Team Lead, Trainer, Lead Operator, Cell Leader, Crew Leader, or informal leader is preferred
  • A strong safety mindset
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • The ability to provide direction respectfully and clearly
  • A willingness to coach employees and help them improve
  • Reliability, consistency, and a positive attitude
  • The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused when problems arise
  • The confidence to communicate concerns to the Supervisor
  • The ability to work alongside employees while also helping lead the area
  • Flexibility to support overtime and changing production needs

Formal supervisory experience is not required. This opportunity is ideal for employees who have shown leadership potential and are ready for greater responsibility.

What Makes This Role Special
  • A clear next step into formal manufacturing leadership
  • Hands-on leadership experience
  • Opportunities to coach, train, and support employees
  • Leadership development and career growth
  • Exposure to production planning, employee development, and performance metrics
  • The opportunity to prepare for a future Supervisor role
  • A company committed to promoting from within
