This role focuses on creating and revising precise 2D AutoCAD drawings and manufacturing documentation for electronic equipment, components, enclosures, panels, and assemblies. You will translate sketches, measurements, concepts, and markups into accurate, production-ready drawings while collaborating closely with management and production teams. As you gain experience, you will progressively take on broader responsibilities and have a clear path toward a project management role.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings using AutoCAD LT 2020 for electronic equipment, components, enclosures, panels, and assemblies.

• Convert sketches, measurements, concepts, and markups into accurate, manufacturable drawings and layouts.

• Prepare drawings with complete and appropriate dimensions, materials, notes, and specifications to support manufacturing.

• Assist in developing electrical and electronic layouts, wiring diagrams, and component placement for various products and assemblies.

• Maintain organized CAD files, revisions, bills of materials (BOMs), parts lists, and related project documentation.

• Work closely with management and production teams to resolve drawing issues and ensure that designs are practical and manufacturable.

• Provide drawing clarification and technical support to production staff as needed during manufacturing.

• Learn and understand the company's products, manufacturing processes, and internal procedures to improve design quality and efficiency.

• Assist with project scheduling, material tracking, production coordination, and other project-related activities as your experience grows.

• Take on additional responsibilities over time and progressively manage smaller projects, with a view toward advancing into a project management role.

Essential Skills

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, including experience with 2D drafting and design, gained through education, training, or previous work experience.

• Ability to create, interpret, and revise basic technical drawings, including understanding dimensions, tolerances, and measurements.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD LT 2020 or similar 2D AutoCAD tools for producing accurate layouts and manufacturing documentation.

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, tracking, and communication.

• Ability to work collaboratively with management and production teams to resolve design and drawing issues.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear drawing clarification and support to production personnel.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining CAD files, revisions, BOMs, parts lists, and project documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience creating 2D drawings for electronic products, enclosures, panels, and assemblies.

• Familiarity with electrical and electronic layouts, wiring diagrams, and component placement.

• Experience with assembly documentation and manufacturing drawings for production environments.

• Interest in and aptitude for project coordination, including scheduling, material tracking, and production support.

• Motivation to take on increasing responsibility and grow into a project management role.

• Ability to learn new products, processes, and procedures quickly in a specialized, niche product environment.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in an office setting, using AutoCAD LT 2020 and Microsoft Office to create and manage drawings and documentation. The role also involves supporting manufacturing functions as needed, providing opportunities to interact directly with production teams and see designs move through the manufacturing process. You will be part of a smaller, close-knit team in a growing organization that produces niche products in high demand. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duncan, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
