Director of Preconstruction / Chief Estimator | Executive Leadership Opportunity | Dallas, TX Executive-level responsibility, long term stability, and the opportunity to join the leadership team of an established commercial general contractor with significant growth ambitions. Blayze Group is partnering with a respected commercial general contractor to appoint a Director of Preconstruction / Chief Estimator to lead its estimating and preconstruction function. This opportunity is particularly suited to a top-performing preconstruction or estimating leader who has reached a ceiling within a larger organization and wants greater influence over business strategy, growth, and the future direction of a company. The successful candidate will become a member of the executive management team, with a clear opportunity to progress beyond estimating into broader senior leadership responsibility. The Role Lead the estimating and preconstruction function across commercial construction projects Oversee estimates, budgets, conceptual pricing, value engineering, and preconstruction strategy Manage projects through the full preconstruction process from initial pursuit through handoff to operations Support the pursuit and securing of negotiated and relationship-driven work Build strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and key project partners Lead, develop, and mentor estimators and preconstruction staff Work closely with operations and executive leadership on project selection, risk, staffing, and strategy Contribute directly to business planning and long-term growth initiatives Help shape the future structure and direction of the preconstruction department Background Sought Significant commercial estimating and preconstruction experience with a respected general contractor Current or previous experience as a Director of Preconstruction, Chief Estimator, Preconstruction Executive, Senior Preconstruction Manager, or similar Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, hard bid, negotiated work, budgeting, value engineering, and constructability Proven experience leading and developing estimating or preconstruction teams Strong subcontractor relationships and knowledge of the commercial construction market Commercially minded with the ability to support project pursuits and help secure new work Comfortable operating directly alongside senior and executive leadership Stable career history with clear progression and increasing responsibility Ambition to move beyond a traditional estimating position and contribute to the wider growth of a business #J-18808-Ljbffr Blayze Group
