Position Overview

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a middle school team in Kansas City, MO. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for an educator experienced in supporting students with mild to moderate behavioral needs in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to middle school students in a self-contained classroom.
• Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Support students with mild to moderate behavioral and academic needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Implement positive behavioral supports and classroom management strategies.
• Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Missouri Special Education teaching certification/licensure.
• Experience working with students with behavioral and/or special education needs preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
• Passion for helping students achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.
