About the Job Position Overview The Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, andDevelopment, College of Education and Human Development,continually accepts resumes for teaching positions that may open upduring the academic year. Applications are reviewed as openingsoccur, and individual applicants are invited to interview whentheir skills or areas of expertise match a specific opening. Theseare temporary, non-tenured, Academic Professional andAdministrative (P&A) positions as Teaching Specialist orLecturer, paid on a per course basis. Typically, these appointmentsare made semester by semester and employment is contingent on thecourse meeting its enrollment target. This posting is designed toestablish a "pool" of instructors. Applicants will be selected fromthis pool on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.Applications will not be acknowledged, but will be reviewed whensuch openings occur throughout the academic year. Job Responsibilities Teaching/Instruction (90%) Teach a course per semester at an undergraduate or graduatelevel on course topics such as: Comparative and InternationalDevelopment Education (CIDE), Education Policy and Leadership,Evaluation Studies, Higher Education, or Human ResourceDevelopment. Prepare course materials including syllabus. Grade student materials including exams, papers, presentations,and final exams. Submit grades. Other duties as assigned. Student Advising (10%) Respond to student inquires via email, phone, or inperson. Evaluate student performance. Qualifications Required Qualifications Master's degree relevant to the teaching assignment requiredfor appointment as Teaching Specialist. A Doctorate or terminal degree relevant to the teachingassignment required for appointment as Lecturer. Previous teaching experience. Ability to develop and deliver courses in ways that effectivelyaccount for a variety of diverse backgrounds, communities,identities, and abilities. Preferred Qualifications Strong record of teaching in a university setting. Strong understanding of curriculum concepts and processes. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $1,000 - $10,000 ; depending oneducation/qualifications/experience, course credit load, and numberof students enrolled in the course.
