Job Description Job Description Food Safety QA Manager Lakewood, NJ (On-site - relocation assistance provided) Compensation: $90K - $120K + 20% bonus (salary based on education and experience) About the Role A well-established food company is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Food Safety QA Manager to lead quality assurance at a small, close-knit facility in the Lakewood, NJ area. This is a great step-up opportunity for a strong supervisor ready to move into a manager role, or a QA manager looking to take full ownership of a program and grow with a supportive organization. The facility runs two shifts with a hands-on, manual production process and a team that is actively modernizing its systems and documentation. The incoming manager will play a central role in that transition, moving the operation away from pen-and-paper processes and toward modern tools and technology. Responsibilities * Lead and develop a team of 3 QA technicians and coordinate with an off-site assistant manager * Own the facility's food safety and quality management system including HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, sanitation oversight, environmental monitoring, and traceability * Drive the transition from manual, paper-based documentation to digital systems and modern tools * Ensure compliance with FDA and USDA regulations and always maintain audit-ready status * Lead customer and third-party audits and manage CAPAs through to closure * Oversee product and packaging compliance, specification maintenance, and labeling requirements * Track and report quality KPIs to leadership and implement corrective actions as needed * Hold ground on food safety standards in a collaborative but assertive way, even when working alongside strong operational personalities * Onboard new products and customers with all regulatory requirements met from day one * Embrace technology, AI tools, and modern systems to improve efficiency and documentation accuracy Requirements * Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and food safety experience * 2 or more years of experience in food safety or quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment; supervisor-level candidates ready to make the step into management are encouraged to apply * FDA or USDA regulated environment experience; both are welcome and the company is open to candidates with experience in either * HACCP, PCQI, and internal auditing certifications preferred; the company will provide training and certification support for the right candidate * Technologically forward-thinking with a willingness to embrace new systems and move away from manual processes * Strong communicator and confident leader who can earn respect from a sharp, driven team * Local candidates preferred; relocation candidates will be considered for the right fit This is a role for someone who is hungry to own a program, lead a team, and grow with a company that will invest in them.
