Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health.

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Credentials: Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation; must receive a 90% to pass.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. RTO needed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission.

Unit Details: Common diagnoses/patient types include total knees, total hips, shoulder replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, hip and ankle fractures, sepsis, pneumonia, cholelithiasis, ambulatory dysfunction, appendicitis, acute respiratory distress, CHF, and ETOH/drug abuse. No titratable drips. Common drips include heparin, IV antibiotics, antithrombics, and narcotics. Patients may include individuals who are homeless and have mental health and/or addiction history.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling. Every third weekend; Friday and Saturday are considered the weekend for nights.

Floating Requirements: Will float to PCU and McDermott (behavioral health).
