Our mission is to be uncompromising in pushing the boundaries of component design and manufacturing for every OEM partner.An Electro/Mechanical Assembler role is responsible for building electronic components to specifications while ensuring that high quality products are delivered globally to meet VJX's stringent quality and safety standards.Job DescriptionFabricate complete cable and harness assemblies, via wire selection, cutting, stripping, crimping and tinning of wire per product design specifications, schematics, wire lists and IPC standardsPopulate and solder electronic assemblies with through-hole and surface-mount componentsPopulating and soldering PCB'sSupport engineering team in building electronic and mechanical prototypes and test fixturesWork from schematics and other engineering documentationFollow all VJX and OSHA workplace safety requirements and policiesSafety Sensitive PositionEssential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of two (2) years of similar experience in a technical environmentUnderstanding of ESD practicesAbility to identify electronic componentsProficiency in cutting, stripping, tinning, and crimping cable and harnessKnowledge of circuit boards, soldering and electronicsPrior experience soldering through-hole and SMT componentsAbility to read and work from electrical prints, schematics and wiring diagramsAbility to use a multi-meter to troubleshoot AC/DC circuitsBasic computer skillsAbility to work as part of a team and independentlyNon-Essential SkillsFormal electronics or MIL-SPEC trainingSMT or other Soldering CertificatesExperience in a Research and Development environmentKnowledge of Global Shop Solutions (GSS)Physical & Mental DemandsRegularly required to sit, walk, bend, stoop and stand within an industrial environmentWill need to repeatedly use hands & fingers to operate basic office equipment and operate hand and power tools standard to a production environmentExpected to effectively communicate in person, on the phone, via email and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basisResponsibilities could require lifting, moving, staging, and placing of materials up to 50 pounds alone and heavier with assistanceVision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusMust be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe mannerOn a regular basis, will be required to:use written and oral communication skillsread and interpret data, information and documentsanalyze and solve non-routine and complex office administrative problemsbe creative, make judgements, use reasoning and make decisionsobserve and interpret situationslearn and apply new information or skillsperform detailed work on multiple, concurrent taskswork under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptionsinteract with internal and external customers holding positions from a wide array of disciplines and organizational hierarchy levelsMay need to communicate and effectively manage dissatisfied or frustrated customers and/or interface with difficult/demanding individualsThis job description is not all inclusive and is subject to change at any time.
