CNC Machinist

This role focuses on setting up and operating a variety of CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components in a short-run, small-batch manufacturing environment. You perform full machine setups, run existing programs, and carry out thorough quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce precision parts.
• Perform full machine setups, including changing jaws, installing and adjusting tooling, and touching off tools.
• Select and load programs from the CNC program library and follow detailed setup sheets for each part.
• Run short production runs and small batches, often completing multiple setups per day.
• Conduct first-piece inspections to verify part dimensions and conformance before running production.
• Perform in-process inspections using gauges and precision measuring tools to maintain quality throughout the run.
• Use calipers, OD and ID micrometers, depth micrometers, and other measurement instruments to verify tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints and written work instructions to determine machining requirements and setup parameters.
• Maintain part quality within typical tolerances of.002" to.005", and achieve tighter tolerances around.0005" on bearing turns and bearing pockets when required.
• Monitor machine operation, make necessary adjustments, and ensure consistent part quality and productivity.
• Work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment, keeping the work area organized and equipment in good working condition.

The role is based in a typical manufacturing facility that is well lit but not climate controlled. You work on CNC mills and lathes, using a range of precision measuring instruments and gauges. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., offering consistent daytime hours. Work is performed on the shop floor in a production environment where appropriate industrial work attire and safety gear are expected.

This is a Permanent position based out of MILWAUKEE, WI.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. This is a fully onsite position in MILWAUKEE,WI.
