Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds the highest professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, regional nursing practice acts, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
- Stay current with product and practice updates, applying new knowledge to enhance cost-effective care.
- Utilize specialized knowledge to make informed patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.
- Foster excellent relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
- Communicate proactively to manage expectations and ensure a positive patient experience through rounding, timely responses, and professional conduct.
- Promote a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, supporting healthcare students, and maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Prioritize safety for patients, guests, and staff by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and just culture principles.
- Engage in continuous professional development, seeking certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.
- Encourage teamwork by mentoring, coaching, and fostering a collaborative and trusting work environment.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
- Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.
Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse license as required by the regional nursing board.
Work Environment:
Full-time, first shift position in a healthcare facility located in the Midwest region of the United States.
