Associate Instructor

Job Summary Associate Instructor – 0.10 FTE within the UPAP program in the Division of Physician Assistant Education and Sciences. The clinical associate will work with a small group (four) of students, reporting to the Clinical Associate Director and Program Director. Responsibilities Facilitate and instruct mastery of the Integrated physical exam and focused exams in HEENT, Neuro, Cardiopulmonary, GI, and Musculoskeletal systems. Evaluate students with standardized patient encounters at the completion of each physical exam module. Teach appropriate medical record production, specifically SOAP note production in conjunction with the OSCEs. Develop clinical problem‑solving through exploration of sixteen clinical cases and one ethics case. Provide instruction and development in SOAP note production and oral case presentations throughout the semester. Participate as a preceptor during the summer semester clinical practicum. Give oral and written feedback on OSCE performance and SOAP note production. Participate in faculty development and preseason meetings twice a year. Grade students at the end of each semester. Participate in at least one admissions conference. Qualifications Current NCCPA certification. Unrestricted Utah State PA licensure or eligibility for it. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong interest in areas that align with the program mission preferred. Strong interest in scholarship and professional development. Three years of clinical experience preferred. Current clinical work. Benefits Eligible new hires may elect to enroll in the Utah Retirement System (URS).
