Prep Cook

Full-time Prep Cook Needed!

The Prep Cook supports the Dining Services team by preparing ingredients, assisting with food production, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This role helps ensure meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning food items.
• Assist cooks and chefs with meal preparation and food production.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and kitchen guidelines.
• Ensure food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including local health department regulations.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
• Maintain an organized workstation and assist with kitchen clean-up.
• Support meal service as needed to ensure timely food preparation.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and dining staff to maintain efficient kitchen operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
