Position Summary

Clifty Group LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Field Surveyor to support civil construction, underground utility, and pipeline installation projects. This role is responsible for performing precise field layout, measurements, and data collection to ensure all work is executed in accordance with engineering plans, specifications, and project requirements.

The Field Surveyor works closely with project managers, engineers, and field crews to maintain accuracy and efficiency across all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform construction staking, layout, and grade verification for underground utilities, pipeline installation, and civil infrastructure
• Interpret and apply engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Establish control points and benchmarks using GPS and total station equipment
• Collect and verify accurate field survey data
• Conduct elevation checks, alignments, and boundary verification
• Coordinate with field crews, superintendents, and project management
• Identify discrepancies between plans and field conditions
• Assist with as-built drawings and documentation
• Maintain survey equipment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
• 2–5+ years of construction surveying experience
• Experience with GPS, total stations, and survey tools
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Strong understanding of grading and site layout
• Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with civil infrastructure or pipeline projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D
• OSHA certification
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Working Conditions
