Director, Custodial Equipment Strategy

Develop and scale a holistic custodial equipment strategy across the organization Assess the external custodial and operational equipment market, manufacturers, technologies, pricing trends, and innovation Conduct market surveys, benchmarking, and competitive analyses to identify best-in-class solutions Evaluate equipment options against operational requirements, client needs, performance standards, and long-term business strategy Develop recommendations balancing cost, performance, scalability, and risk Inform enterprise standards, sourcing strategies, and capital investment decisions with Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Strategy teams Provide equipment recommendations and technical input for client RFPs and renewal activities Act as a technical advisor during client pursuits Visit client sites to assess equipment, utilization, maintenance, and deployment effectiveness Advise operations teams and clients on equipment selection, configuration, and utilization Identify opportunities to improve productivity, outcomes, safety, and client satisfaction Synthesize market intelligence, field observations, and technical analysis into executive-level communications Prepare and deliver briefings and presentations to senior leadership, including the CEO Engage manufacturers, distributors, and industry experts to validate insights and remain current on market developments Support equipment pilots, trials, and evaluations with structured feedback and documented findings Represent the organization as a knowledgeable voice on custodial equipment strategy Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of experience in custodial equipment, equipment management, operations, strategic sourcing, or a related discipline Experience conducting market research, industry assessments, or technology evaluations Experience presenting complex information to senior- or executive-level stakeholders Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and thought leadership skills Results-oriented, metrics-driven leadership with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance Outstanding collaboration and communication skills Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques Experience working directly with C-suite executives Strong business acumen paired with hands-on equipment expertise May be required to have a valid driver’s license Ability to travel up to 25% domestically Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in custodial equipment strategy development, market analysis, and operational efficiency.
