Location: Prescott, AZ

Start Date: 10-19-2026

End Date: 01-18-2027

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60.20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse telemetry and medical-surgical population
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips at least once per shift, signing off on every rhythm you read
• Manage patients with CHF, respiratory, GI, diabetic, post-cath and total joint replacement needs
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips such as Diltiazem and Cardizem
• Respond confidently to CVA and TIA presentations and escalate care when every second counts
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides and respiratory therapists to keep care moving smoothly
• Educate patients and families so they feel informed and empowered about their recovery
• Float to East Campus or PCU when needed and bring your skills wherever they are needed most
• Document accurately in Cerner to keep the whole care team on the same page

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license, with the ability to submit your license at the time of application
• At least 2 years of acute care RN experience in telemetry or medical-surgical nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before signing your contract, with a score of 80% or higher
• Comfort reading basic telemetry strips and interpreting rhythms independently
• Some experience caring for CVA, TIA and total joint replacement patients
• Cerner experience is recommended since orientation is just one shift on the unit
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility and have no full-time, part-time or PRN employment with any CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity facility within the past year

Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients CHF, COVID, resp, GI, Diabetics, Tele, post cath, total joint replacement
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Reading basic tele strips, some experience with CVA and TIA . Cerner experience recommended as there is only one day of orientation. Total joint replacement experience
• Are RN's required to titrate drips no
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips we take Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at a set rate.
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? Yes, Yes RN’s are required to interpret strips and sign at least once a shift.
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Both
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios Yes 1:10-15
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) Bi Pap, CPAP, breathing treatments
• Shifts & Scheduling Shifts are 7-7. -
• Schedules are made out for 4 weeks. Self scheduling is used but not final until the manager
• balances.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry strip interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Solid medical-surgical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Confidence managing CHF, respiratory, GI and diabetic patient populations
• Familiarity with set-rate cardiac drips like Diltiazem and Cardizem
• Experience with BiPap, CPAP and breathing treatments
• Comfort working with a 1:5 patient ratio and supporting nurse aides at 1:10 to 1:15
• Cerner charting proficiency
• Team-first communication and a flexible, can-do attitude
