Registered Nurse - Post-Partum
Seeking an experienced Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment working 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM7:30 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The Postpartum RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns following delivery, supporting recovery, newborn stabilization, breastfeeding education, and family-centered care. Candidates must have strong postpartum experience and be comfortable working in a combined Labor & Delivery/Postpartum environment.
Requirements:
- 2 years of Postpartum RN experience required
- Active Wisconsin RN License required
- BLS (AHA or ARC) required
- Advanced NRP required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- Labor & Delivery competency required
- Epic experience preferred
- Traveler must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Strong maternal-newborn assessment and patient education skills required
- Experience with breastfeeding support and newborn care required
Responsibilities include providing postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns, performing maternal and newborn assessments, monitoring recovery following vaginal and cesarean deliveries, supporting breastfeeding and newborn feeding education, administering medications and treatments, monitoring for postpartum complications, providing newborn stabilization and routine newborn care, educating families on postpartum and infant care, documenting care in Epic, collaborating with obstetric and pediatric providers, participating in discharge planning, and delivering high-quality family-centered care throughout the postpartum stay.
