Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring at least 2 years of experience and NICU/critical care skills.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 7:00
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week, open to a 36/48 rotating schedule
• Every other weekend required, including 2 Fridays in a 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirement
• In-hospital patient transports required
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• CRTT or RRT certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NRP certification required for NICU assignments
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Louisiana state license required, or compact license accepted; license required if applicable
• Experience with ventilator management, airway management, and arterial blood gas draws/interpretation required
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures such as CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and high frequency jet ventilators preferred
• Experience managing patients with ARDS, ECMO, cystic fibrosis, and fresh tracheostomy preferred
• At least two recent manager references required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Perform airway management, suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Administer a range of medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care as needed
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and ventilator weaning
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Candidates must not be a former permanent employee of the health system within the last year
