Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRTT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and multiple life support certifications.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week, open to 36/48 rotating schedule
• Every other weekend required
• 2 Fridays within a 4 week schedule
• No call requirements
• In-hospital patient transport duties required
• NICU coverage requires NRP certification
• Epic charting system used
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU

Requirements

• CRT, CRTT, or RRT certification required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• NRP certification required for NICU assignments
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• LA state license required (if applicable)
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillator
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist and extubation
• Experience with ABG interpretation and arterial blood gas draws
• Neonatal/pediatric equipment experience preferred, including bubble CPAP and oscillating ventilators
• Two recent manager references required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Participate in care of patients with ARDS, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and ECMO
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric airway management as needed
• Complete facility-specific, non-billable training modules prior to start
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Returning LCMC employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
