Emergency Medicine | Level III Trauma Center | Flexible Shift Coverage

365 Healthcare is seeking Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Mason City, Iowa. This assignment offers flexible shift scheduling within a busy regional referral center and teaching hospital serving northern Iowa and southern Minnesota.

Emergency privileges are available for qualified candidates, allowing for expedited onboarding.

Schedule
• Open shift coverage
• 9-hour and 12-hour shifts
• Day, evening, and night opportunities available
• No call responsibilities
• Ongoing coverage needs

Practice Setting
• Hospital-based Emergency Department
• Level III Trauma Center
• Teaching hospital environment
• 250-bed regional medical center
• Approximately 33,000 annual ED visits
• Average daily volume of 77 patients
• Peak patient volume during 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
• Less than 3% transfer rate

Clinical Responsibilities
• Emergency Department physician coverage
• Evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries
• Stabilization and management of trauma patients
• Collaboration with specialists and inpatient services
• Supervision and collaboration with Advanced Practice Providers
• Documentation and patient management utilizing Epic EMR

Team Structure
• Daytime physician coverage: 1-2 physicians
• Night coverage: 1 physician
• 1-2 Advanced Practice Providers
• APP supervision required
• Collaborative multidisciplinary environment

Qualifications
• Board Certified Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Iowa License or active IMLC
• ACLS and PALS certification through AHA (waived for ABEM physicians)
• ATLS required for trauma privileges
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Ability to obtain privileges quickly
• Availability for open July and/or August shifts
