Job Description
Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Must-Have: Must have completed one (1) year of licensing


Description:
Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, you will perform direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by the certification.
The Certified Nurse Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
You must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
Interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provide the necessary care for adult and geriatric patient groups.


Resident's activities of daily living (ADL) needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care.
Documentation must be completed per protocol.


Resident's environment and safety must be maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes answering call lights and alarms promptly, ensuring the provision of safety mats and low beds, and using restraints under the direction of nursing.
Maintain cleanliness of the unit and monitor for malfunctioning equipment.
Documentation must be completed per protocol.


Resident's nutritional needs will be met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, and feeding.
The preferences and choices of residents shall be honored.

Resident's rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices.
Documentation must be completed per protocol.


Resident's rights, refusals, and concerns must be reported to the Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures.
Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status must be identified and reported to the Charge Nurse promptly.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
