Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Acute Care Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in an inpatient setting in Sitka, Alaska. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population across the lifespan, including individuals with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions within Med-Surg Peds, Med-Surg Ortho, Med-Surg Mother/Baby, and Med-Surg Adult specialties.

The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services. This position requires strong clinical assessment skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to effectively manage fluctuating patient acuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions, recognizing changes in patient condition and initiating appropriate actions or escalation of care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to provider orders and organizational policy.
• Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs, delivering culturally responsive care.
• Exercise independent nursing judgment and critical thinking to determine appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities, and identify when consultation or escalation to a licensed independent provider is required.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized nursing plans of care based on patient needs, responses, preferences, and clinical circumstances.
