Junior Tax Accountant

LHH is assisting a client with their need for a Junior Tax Accountant. This is a terrific opportunity to join a small team and a growing company. This is a hybrid opportunity in south Charlotte. Please read on for more details. Key Responsibilities Prepare and support the filing of sales tax, property tax, and income tax returns. Collect, organize, and maintain financial data and tax records needed for compliance and reporting. Assist with tax account reconciliations and review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Monitor filing calendars and help ensure deadlines are met. Research basic tax questions and assist in resolving notices, discrepancies, and routine tax issues. Work with internal departments to gather information required for tax filings and audits. Support tax audits, registrations, and other compliance-related projects as needed. Help identify process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy within the tax function. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. Internship experience in accounting or tax, or 1-2 years of relevant accounting or tax experience required. Basic understanding of tax principles and accounting concepts. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-state tax compliance is a plus. Exposure to ERP systems or tax software is preferred. Interest in developing a career in corporate tax or indirect tax.
