Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianPlanetArt is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support the company's Maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all facility equipment in the production area.Extended hours include scheduled 10- and 12-hour days as well as scheduled weekend hours during all peak periods. May be required to transfer to 2nd shift during peak periods.PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the Woodridge area.Key ResponsibilitiesSome duties will extend to include exterior maintenance of the facility. Production equipment includes Laser engravers, embroidery machines, digital printers, conveyors, minor facilities and building maintenance, and more.Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements3 years Proven mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills required – or any combination of education, training, or maintenance experience.High School Degree required. Associate's or technical degree preferred. Facilities maintenance skills a plusExperience with all mechanical aspects of production equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.Effective communication skills are needed, with the ability to work well with others, possess the skills necessary to monitor and follow up with procedures, be a self-starter, and be able to prioritize tasks with little supervision.Experience using small hand and power toolsMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishAble to complete various physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, or bendingPreferred:Prior experience with maintenance ticketing systems.Basic mechanics trainingElectrical troubleshooting and repairMaintenance and repair of conveyor systemsExperience repairing ink jet printers, embroidery machines, laser engraversAbility to read and follow blue-print designsOSHA certifications or other formal safety training related to the manufacturing industryWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to heavy machinery, dust, fluctuating temperatures and moderate noise levelsPosition involves working around machinery with moving partsThe position may require alternating shifts, depending on volumePosition requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds with or without assistancePosition requires movement of items from machinery to other locationsPosition requires regular handling of materials, packaging, lifting, pulling, pushing, bendingFrequent sustained walking and /or standing for prolonged periods of timeThe compensation range for this position is $28 - $36 hourly ratePlanetArt offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Health, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) with matchingVacation, Sick Days, Paid Holidays, and Floating HolidaysEmployee Product Discounts
