Ensures that work is being done in the most efficient and productive manner. Responsible for checking all jobs for quality and accuracy Supervisory Responsibilities:Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsResponsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance: addressing complaints and resolving problemsAttends monthly Managers and Montly Safety MeetingsDaily Schedule MeetingsOther Duties/Responsibilities:Implement department goals, strategies, and proceduresStrategies - specific action plans that when taken will cause internal goals to be realizedSystems & Procedures - specific systems and procedures to implement strategies.Individual Actions - motivates individuals for actions that achieve department goals and lead to the fulfillment of the Company vision.Checks job for quality at the beginning of the run and spot checking throughout the run timeChecks and delivers samples to the production office dailyChecks job jackets to ensure accuracy on finishing instructions, counts are correct, splits on deliveries and correct destinations and make sure samples were done and look acceptableSchedules work in the most efficient mannerAssigns employees to their jobsAssists with set-ups and trouble shooting.Ensures that production is running at its maximum.Operates Bindery equipment when necessaryMonitors department safety regulations ensuring that employees are using protective gear and complying with government regulations.Reports all workers compensation accidents and completes the necessary paperwork for filingTrains and cross train personnel on equipment and proceduresKeeps employees abreast of new and better ways of performing their jobsMaintains machinery, reports safety hazards, any missing or broken partsKeeps the area clean and organizedPerforms other duties as requiredEducation and Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have knowledge of MBO roll and sheet folders, Stahl sheet folders, Polar cutters, Muller saddle stitchers, and Palamides bandersMust be familiar with personalized mail of all kindsBi-lingual English/Spanish speaking is a plusForklift License is a plusPhysical Requirements: Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hearFrequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlOccasionally required to sit and climb or balanceRegularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 poundsFrequently exposed to moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to high, precarious places; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.
