VP Software Development

The client is seeking a VP of Software Development (Consumer Platform + AI) to lead a large, global engineering organization and drive executive-level product innovation. This highly visible role will focus on evolving core consumer and fintech platform capabilities, integrating AI across products and internal workflows, and aligning engineering strategy with business growth in a fast-moving, data-rich environment. Responsibilities include leading and scaling a multi-region engineering team, owning delivery across customer-facing web and mobile applications as well as backend and platform systems, and modernizing distributed, real-time services that handle high-throughput data. The VP will oversee the integration of newly acquired products into a unified platform ecosystem, establish and evolve engineering best practices, architecture standards, and operating models, and partner closely with executive leadership to translate priorities into measurable outcomes. Candidates should have 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant time in senior leadership roles, including proven experience leading large-scale, distributed engineering teams in complex environments. Experience building and scaling real-time, high-throughput systems and consumer-facing platforms is expected, and a background in fintech, payments, or regulated financial systems is strongly preferred. Additional qualifications include a demonstrated track record driving platform modernization, cloud adoption, and system migration, exposure to AI/ML or LLM-driven initiatives, and an executive presence capable of influencing senior stakeholders while leading transformation through ambiguity.
