Senior Plumbing Designer / Deputy Department Manager - Healthcare Projects Dewberry is seeking an Senior Plumbing Designer / Deputy Department Manager specializing in healthcare in Nashville, TN. The role requires an accomplished plumbing designer/engineer with 10+ years of progressive technical experience designing plumbing systems for healthcare projects. The candidate will design and evaluate medical gas systems found in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, freestanding emergency departments, and medical office buildings, while providing technical oversight of multiple projects to ensure contract specifications, technical standards, on-time delivery, and budget compliance. Key Required Skills and Experience 10+ years of progressive technical experience designing plumbing systems for healthcare projects. Expertise in design and evaluation of medical gas systems in hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, freestanding emergency departments, and medical office buildings. Proven technical oversight of multiple projects with successful delivery on time and within budget. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous note-keeping. Self-motivated and able to collaborate with diverse engineering teams. Responsibilities The role includes providing the following support and guidance to the design team and project stakeholders: Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all plumbing engineering work. Technical training and development of staff. Establishment and improvement of standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for plumbing discipline. On-the-spot advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates. Coordination with all disciplines involved, including outside consultants. Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
