Database Administrator

Salary: $60,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements:

• We need proven experience administering ADABAS databases and working with Software AG products in a mainframe setting.
• We are looking for a background in database architecture, deployment, testing, upkeep, and ongoing administration.
• Experience managing both production and non-production database environments is required.
• You should have hands-on knowledge of database backup and restoration processes.
• We expect experience with database configuration, parameter adjustment, and logical data modeling.
• Familiarity with data repository management, data dictionary creation and maintenance, and data warehousing practices is required.
• Strong capability in database performance tuning, storage optimization, resource allocation, and capacity planning is expected.
• Experience with database security administration is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
• At least 3 years of database administration experience across multiple platforms is preferred.
• Experience with IBM DB2 is preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise database environments in government or large organizations is preferred.

• We will carry out backup and recovery activities across database management systems.
• We will configure database parameters and apply settings based on logical data models.
• We will develop and sustain prototype database designs.
• We will define and maintain data repository needs, data dictionaries, and data warehousing requirements.
• We will improve database performance, storage allocation, and overall resource usage.
• We will allocate and reallocate database resources to improve performance and cost efficiency.
• We will ensure our database environments meet standards for availability, integrity, and security.
• We will collaborate with the Departments Contract Manager and technical teams to support database operations.

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (ADABAS) to support enterprise database environments in Tallahassee, Florida. This is a W2 opportunity only, with no C2C arrangements. The role focuses on maintaining high availability, reliability, security, and performance across both production and non-production systems. The position involves close partnership with the Departments Contract Manager and technical teams, and experience working onsite in Tallahassee is preferred.
