Salary: $82,000 - 122,000 per year Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data platform architecture, data engineering, or distributed systems.
- Proven success leading enterprise-scale cloud migrations involving hundreds of terabytes or petabytes of data.
- Strong experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, enterprise messaging systems such as AMPS or MQ, Hadoop, AWS, and large-scale data warehouse or lakehouse platforms.
- Experience migrating data from platforms such as Vertica, Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, or Snowflake.
- Strong software engineering skills, including Java, Python, SQL, or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and operational monitoring.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Preferred: Databricks and/or AWS Solutions Architect certifications.
- Preferred: Experience with lakehouse architectures and streaming or real-time analytics platforms.
- Preferred: Experience in highly regulated financial services or enterprise environments.
- Preferred: Masters degree.
- Define target-state architecture for enterprise data platforms and cloud-native analytics solutions.
- Lead migration of large-scale data environments from on-premises platforms to the cloud.
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure architectures for petabyte-scale workloads.
- Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, and engineering best practices.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to align with enterprise cloud strategies.
- Assess and recommend technologies for data storage, processing, streaming, governance, and observability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teams implementing Spark, Kafka, Databricks, and cloud-native services.
- Improve platform performance, manage costs, and promote operational excellence.
- Advise executive stakeholders on migration roadmaps, risks, and modernization strategies.
