Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant is a field-based member of the operations team who supports the
facilitation of in-person and remote evaluations throughout California. The Medical
Assistant helps ensure the day of evaluation is organized, professional, efficient, and
ready for the evaluating physician and examinee.
This position is primarily focused on examination-day and physician support, including
preparing for the evaluation, assisting with the flow of the workday, obtaining routine
measurements and vital signs as directed by the physician and within applicable scope,
managing examination documents, materials, equipment, and communicating
operational needs. The Medical Assistant does not independently diagnose, treat,
determine causation, make impairment or disability determinations, or provide opinions
regarding the outcome of an evaluation.
**This is a part-time role.

What You’ll Do
Field Operations & Exam Logistics
- Travel to assigned examination locations, arriving with sufficient lead time to prepare rooms, equipment, forms, records, and required materials.
- Maintain, transport, inventory, and appropriately store examination equipment and operational supplies.
- Complete required travel, mileage, expense, examination, and operational documentation accurately and within established timelines.
- Identify and promptly communicate operational, scheduling, equipment, safety, location, or examinee concerns to relevant stakeholders.
Clinical Support & Patient Care
- Support evaluating physicians during scheduled evaluations to maintain an efficient examination-day workflow.
- Greet examinees professionally, verify identity and required information, and provide general logistical instructions regarding the process.
- Obtain and document routine measurements (height, weight, vital signs) and assist physicians with range-of-motion measurements and positioning as requested.
- Serve as a professional chaperone when requested or required.
Medical-Legal Compliance & Neutrality
- Maintain strict neutrality and professional boundaries throughout the medical-legal evaluation process; do not advocate for the examinee, employer, carrier, or any other party.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and organized documentation of information obtained during the evaluation as directed by the physician and company procedures.
- Protect confidential and protected health information (PHI) in full compliance with applicable privacy, security, and company requirements.
Adaptability & Relationship Management
- Maintain a professional relationship with evaluating physicians, examinees, examination-site personnel, attorneys, claims professionals, and internal team members.
- Adapt seamlessly to different physicians, medical specialties, examination locations, schedules, and patient needs while maintaining consistent service standards.
- Perform other duties related to examination support and field operations as assigned.
