Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemedicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years MedSurg/Tele experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong background in MedSurg/Tele - Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively - Solid written and oral communication skills - Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels - Experience reading telemetry strips - Skills in chest tubes, tracheostomies, IV starts, and PCA pumps Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemedicine. The unit will have 26 beds and a patient ratio of RN 5-6:1 and CNA 8-9:1. Patient types and common diagnoses include general medicine, diabetes, GI issues, respiratory issues, renal care, wounds, and dressing changes. Chest tubes, tracheostomies, lab draws, and telemetry monitoring are required, with a focus on varying medication management including Amiodarone and PCA pumps. CNA support will provide basic nursing care and assist the RN as needed. Rapid response and hospitalist teams will be available 24/7, along with telemetry monitoring. Technology used will include electronic medical records, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems. The unit culture is patient-centered, emphasizing reliability and teamwork.
