Route Supervisor

This position is based in Romulus, Michigan , supporting Ford and Penske operations . Our team plays a critical role in coordinating daily transportation activities, managing driver communication, supporting material flow, and ensuring the efficient movement of freight throughout the customer network. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing a fleet of professional drivers while maintaining service, safety, and operational performance.

Shift Available

This position supports a six-day operation and is scheduled as follows:

• Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Additional Earning Opportunity

• Employees working the Saturday shift will receive an additional incentive on top of their regular pay.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a fleet of approximately 25-30 drivers and provide day-to-day operational support.
• Coordinate daily routes and monitor freight movement to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customer representatives, and internal operational teams.
• Manage driver scheduling, attendance, and daily staffing needs.
• Monitor service levels, route performance, and customer KPIs.
• Address transportation issues, delays, and service exceptions in a timely manner.
• Coach drivers on safety, performance, attendance, and customer service expectations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and transportation documentation.
• Support driver onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
• Make operational decisions independently, particularly during Saturday operations when leadership coverage may be limited.
• Collaborate with customer representatives and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, warehousing, or fleet operations.
• Previous supervisory, lead, dispatch, or transportation leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently while leading and supporting a team of drivers.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to support scheduled Saturday operations.
