Travel ICU RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or a compact state
• At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing continuous IV sedation
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, intra-aortic balloon pumps, dysrhythmia management, and critical care protocols
• Competence with central line care, PICC line management, arterial blood gas interpretation, blood product administration, and IV therapy
• Ability to float within the ICU specialty and assigned acuity level
• Influenza vaccination is required; exemptions are not available for this assignment
• CPI certification may be required as part of assignment compliance

Travel ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity ICU
• Care for patients with stroke, renal failure requiring CRRT, myocardial infarction requiring IABP support, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post-cardiac arrest conditions, DKA, and surgical ICU diagnoses
• Monitor patients receiving mechanical ventilation, continuous IV sedation, hypothermia protocols, and advanced hemodynamic support
• Assess and interpret cardiac rhythms, arterial blood gases, and changes in patient condition
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and prescribed therapies safely and accurately
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, IV access, and other critical care equipment
• Support CRRT/CVVHD and intra-aortic balloon pump therapies according to unit protocols
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, IV services, rehabilitation, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
• Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based critical care practices
