A full-time Staff Pharmacist opportunity is available in behavioral health pharmacy, located in New Paltz, NY. This role focuses on supporting patients with behavioral health conditions and managing complex medication regimens in collaboration with prescribers, pharmacy technicians, and healthcare professionals. Behavioral health pharmacy experience is essential to thrive in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, proper dosing, drug interactions, allergies, and clinical appropriateness
• Safely dispense medications and provide thorough medication counseling to patients and caregivers
• Support patients receiving behavioral health medications and manage complex therapies
• Communicate effectively with prescribers to clarify medication orders and address therapy concerns
• Assist with medication adherence programs and continuity-of-care initiatives
• Resolve medication access challenges, including prior authorization issues
• Collaborate closely with the patient's healthcare team to optimize treatment outcomes
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with New York State regulations
• Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Promote patient safety and support quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Active and clear New York State Pharmacist license required
• Prior experience in behavioral health pharmacy is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health medications and expertise in medication management
• Skilled in managing complex medication regimens with solid clinical judgment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-care abilities
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
