Patient Care Tech (PCT), Evening Shift, 8S Observation/General Surgery

Patient Care Technician

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Technician for our 8S Observation/General Surgery who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Patient Care Technician, you will:

• Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
• Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
• Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives.
• Commit to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change.
• Present a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization.
• Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse.
• Receive report from the Registered Nurse.
• Ensures a culture of safety.
• Identify and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies.
• Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately.

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma required.
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Effective command of English language (spoken and written).
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning.
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.
• Strong computer skills.

Work Schedule:

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
• Typical Daily Schedule: 2:45 pm-11:15pm (3, 12-hour shifts per week - Within the 4-week schedule cycle, employee is expected to work a minimum of three weekend shifts (1 Saturday, 1 Sunday and another weekend shift of your choice). Must also work 1 Monday and 1 Friday.)

Pay Range:

$19.21 - $24.90

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
