RN - Emergency Department

Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital is hiring for a Full Time Nights RN. This position provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Professional Requirements Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. Complete annual education requirements. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Wear BCMS issued identification badge while on duty. Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times. Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices. Qualifications Current licensure as RN in Florida. Current BLS certification. ACLS & PALS from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire, maintain current thereafter. At least 1 year of experience in hospital clinical setting; emergency department experience, preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Professional certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN), preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. Must possess high-degree of resourcefulness as it relates to a thorough knowledge of hospital management principles and practices. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including effective communication, both oral and written. Proven professional judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to determine appropriate course of action in complex situations. Work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude. Manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize scheduling of work. Maintain confidentiality of all staff, medical, financial, and/or legal related information. Complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner. Handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
