This person will be part of a team responsible for performing common area operating expense reconciliations for a portfolio of office and retail buildings.

 

GENERAL OPERATIONS

• Read and interpret lease agreements and extract information to calculate additional rent.
• Analyze general ledger operating expense activity.
• Analyze operating expenses trends and provide variance explanations.
• Calculate monthly operating expense estimates.
• Prepare projected monthly operating expense billings for annual budgets
• Reconcile annual operating expenses based on actual expenses, including gross up, expense cap and expense floor calculations.
• Respond to tenant inquiries
• Special projects

 

TECHNICAL PREREQUISITES

• Real Estate/Property Management Accounting experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret Commercial Retail and Office Leases.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel at the intermediate or higher level.
• Experience with property management software, preferably MRI.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who works well in a team environment under tight deadlines.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
