PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE – TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative to support patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-end hospital operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Register patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule laboratory, radiology, surgical, and other services.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Obtain authorizations for services when required.
• Complete outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and Emergency Department registrations.
• Explain and obtain required patient forms and consents.
• Answer and return patient calls with excellent customer service.
• Coordinate with patients, physician offices, and hospital departments.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Utilize hospital and insurance electronic systems.
• Support multiple Patient Access areas, including the Emergency Department.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with team operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2–3 years of current, relevant medical-setting experience.
• Previous scheduling and/or patient registration experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Paragon EMR experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.
