Key Responsibilities Support implementation of changes to automation systems, updating design documents, executing testing, troubleshooting events, and participate in site automation on‑call support. Provide SME level support of all automated process control systems in licensed manufacturing, including dedicated clean utilities. Act as the manufacturing systems & automation site support interface with operations, QA compliance, information systems, engineering, maintenance, and the site‑wide automation support technicians. Exhibit strong customer communication skills and in‑depth technical knowledge of process control systems and equipment used in biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing. Hands‑on support of automated systems in manufacturing (including Building Automation Systems), troubleshoot automated process equipment, coordinate contractors, and execute site change controls. Aid investigation of process deviations, provide expertise for process evaluation, and improve product quality and yields. Improve response time to failures, implement site automation standard procedures, and Global Engineering Practices. Integrate automation systems with digital applications to support production, quality control, and data management. Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory standards, develop specifications, test protocols, and system validation. Develop specialized training materials and provide ongoing support post‑implementation. Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, facilities, and tech transfer departments to document detailed requirements. Develop standards and best practices, lead cross‑functional teams through design reviews and user acceptance testing. Participate in facility operational meetings to meet reporting needs. Oversee daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of automation systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, etc.) to ensure continuous production. Identify, propose, and implement process and system improvements to enhance automation performance and reduce costs. Work closely with engineering, production, quality, IT, and other cross‑functional teams to align automation systems with goals and regulations. Ensure all automation activities comply with GMP, safety standards, and other regulations; manage risks proactively. Be available for on‑call support during off‑shift hours on a rotating schedule. Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Automation, Computer Science, Biotechnology, or related technical field). Experience 2+ years of direct experience in automation systems and support within biopharma or related industries. Knowledge of DCS (DeltaV), SCADA (Aveva), PLCs, and related automation technologies; experience with data acquisition from PLCs into higher‑level applications (Historian, ERPs, OPC). Soft and Technical Skills Team collaboration and communication with cross‑functional teams. Analytical problem‑solving abilities. Effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
