Transportation Engineer

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is an employee‑owned engineering firm headquartered in Rockville, Maryland offering civil, transportation, environmental, and architectural services. AMT seeks a Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our transportation team in the Mid‑Atlantic region. The position may be located in Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Herndon, VA and offers a hybrid schedule with up to two days from home each week. Responsibilities Support a variety of projects involving data collection and analysis for engineering reports. Develop horizontal and vertical alignments. Perform cross‑section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modeling. Provide design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right‑of‑way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic‑related plans. Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution (required). Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway, highway, and traffic control plan preparation. Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) preferred. Experience with MicroStation Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
