Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer – Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; or Raleigh, NC. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of traffic operations and modeling, the ability to develop creative and effective technical solutions, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities Conduct traffic operational analysis using various modeling tools. Provide analysis to support development of design solutions and operational improvements. Conduct crash data analysis and perform safety studies for intersections and corridors. Prepare summary tables, sketches, and exhibits to communicate technical findings. Write technical reports and prepare technical memoranda. Tabulate, process, and prepare deliverables related to traffic data collection tasks. Perform on‑site field investigations when required. Communicate and collaborate in a team environment. Work independently and provide oversight of junior staff work. Qualifications BSCE with 6‑12 years of experience in traffic engineering. Engineer in Training (EIT) required; PE/PTOE is a plus. Understanding of traffic analysis concepts and experience with traffic model development. Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic/Warrants, SIDRA, HCS. Working knowledge of roadway design principles, and familiarity with MUTCD, ITE, FHWA, and AASHTO manuals and procedures. Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is a plus. Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills; positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
