Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Neuro – North Carolina

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants (local candidates within 50 miles may receive different rate)

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week; 12-16 weekend shifts per contract; manager-created schedules; flexible blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request

Highlights:

• Medical Surgical Neuro unit with patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Contract length of 13-26 weeks accepted
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• Two orientation shifts on unit following hospital-based orientation
• Patient population includes neurosurgical procedures and neurological diagnoses
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and therapy services

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license (pending license acceptable for submission)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required or preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Neuro experience strongly preferred
• Skills required: telemetry, IV management, CVA care, isolation precautions, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must be available to work Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Willingness to float within facility as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours after signing
