Assistant Plant Manager

Assistant Plant ManagerWe are currently seeking an Assistant Plant Manager, based out of our Newberry, FL plant. In this role you will support a positive safety culture in an aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards. As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will be assisting the Plant Manager with the daily operation of the pit, plant, and sales yard.Day To DayActively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition in alignment with the ARC100 program.Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.Facilitate bi-weekly Arcosa Safety Briefings encouraging all employees to participate in the discussion and improvement of safety on the site.Manage the daily collection and processing of all safety inspection documentation. Assign any required repairs to be completed in a timely manner.Manage the work order process for all repairs on site. This includes working with the operators and plant personnel to identify problems, documenting the repair needed, order required parts to complete the repair, schedule and manage the repair, and complete the work order process by closing the work order and completing all electronic tracking requirements.Proficiency operating all on-site equipment in quarry or plant.Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operatorsProvide ongoing mentorship and coaching to employeesAssist with performance evaluations and corrective actions when necessaryManage the daily entry of production results in the KPI tracker and participate in continuous improvement activities to improve the efficiency of operations on site.Perform other duties or responsibilities as assignedAbout YouExperience in leading, managing, and motivating employeesExcellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS ExcelAbility to work extended shifts (including weekends), as needed to meet production goals.Positive, team-based attitudeStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Prompt, regular, and predictable attendanceWorking ConditionsThe ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)BenefitsArcosa is proud to offer competitive benefits and programs to help you and your family meet your healthcare and retirement planning needs.
