The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to maintain, enhance, and support critical enterprise applications.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain applications using AS/400 (IBM i) and RPGLE programmingDrive IBM i modernization initiatives by championing modern development tooling (VS Code with Code for IBM i, RPG/CLP editing) in place of traditional green-screen tools, integrating AI-assisted development practices where applicable, and migrating source code management to Git/GitHub to support version control, branching, and collaborative development workflows on the AS/400 platform.Develop and support database solutions using MS-Access and OpenEdge ProgressCreate and maintain Visual Basic applications and integrationsWork directly with business users to gather requirements, provide solutions, and deliver technical supportTroubleshoot and resolve application issues with minimal supervisionPerform system administration tasks in Linux environmentsDocument technical specifications and maintain code repositoriesRequired Skills & Qualifications:Strong proficiency in AS/400 (IBM i) and RPGLE programmingStrong SQL knowledge including query optimization, stored procedures, and database design.Experience with MS-Access database development and managementWorking knowledge of Visual Basic for application developmentHands-on experience with OpenEdge Progress database and 4GLSolid understanding of Linux operating systemsExcellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business usersSelf-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsQualifications:Experience with Insurance claim systems and workflowsUnderstanding of insurance industry business processesKnowledge of modernization strategies for legacy systemsEducation: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experienceDo you believe in the power of innovation, collaboration, and transformation?
