About the Position

Job Opportunity – Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse – South Carolina

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, 2:1 patient ratio, 72-hour orientation, weekend coverage required, standby availability expected, float to ICUs and cardiac telemetry as needed

Highlights:

• Advanced cardiac ICU setting with complex patient population requiring expertise in cardiac devices including LVAD, Impella, IABP, and TVP
• Manage cardiac and medical intensive care patients with advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and step-down overflow
• 19-bed unit with daily census of 16 patients; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Epic EMR system with 1 year minimum Epic experience required
• Billable pre-assignment modules (up to 16 hours) with reimbursement; orientation begins every Monday
• 13-week contract with potential for extensions up to 39 weeks

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CVICU, CCU, or Cardiopulmonary ICU with strong cardiac intensive care background
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required flu vaccination (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, and sheath removal
• Experience with 2:1 patient ratios and advanced cardiac devices (Impella, IABP, invasive hemodynamic monitoring)
• Proficiency in managing ventilated patients, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, CRRT, arterial line management, and central line care
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside 100+ miles from facility (distance requirements apply; compensation adjustments for 90-99.9 miles)
• Adult patient population experience
