Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team
• Manage and monitor patients requiring telemetry, progressive care, and step-down level interventions
• Perform and manage care involving chest tubes, femstops, trachs, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and critical drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation and care coordination
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required); Iowa license required upon offer
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Med Surg, Telemetry, or PCU/Step-down setting
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Demonstrated competency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
• Experience administering and titrating critical care drips including vasoactive and cardiac medications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
