Founded in Brooklyn in 2016, King David Tacos is a woman-owned CPG / Hospitality hybrid food company, focused on making a better on-the-go breakfast. Our breakfast tacos are critically acclaimed, and we have established the breakfast taco market in New York. We operate out of our 11,000 square foot headquarters and production facility in Prospect Heights. We sell our breakfast tacos across Retail (brick & mortar, mobile, catering) and Wholesale (foodservice) channels. 

Our products–breakfast tacos–are straightforward, but require great attention to detail. We produce all of our ingredients and menu items daily and then package our breakfast tacos for grab’n’go.

The AM Kitchen & Fulfillment Associate is an important morning position responsible for opening the production (kitchen) space, heating and holding packaged tacos, and organizing products for daily distribution. The AM workflow is highly organized and schedule-driven, with each step timed to ensure products are ready for the day’s delivery and service windows. This role ensures tacos and other products are accurately packed and staged for catering, retail locations, wholesale partners, Goldbelly, and other deliveries.

The role also supports order preparation and packaging, helping the Operations and Production team stay ahead of upcoming needs. When additional kitchen support is needed, this role may pitch in with food preparation, cooking, assembly, and other production tasks.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that works closely with the AM Production/Operations managers, and broader kitchen and logistics teams. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, focused, and comfortable following a detailed sequence of steps and timing throughout the morning. Strong attention to food safety, product quality, order details, and timing is essential.

1. AM Operations
   • Open and prepare the kitchen and staging areas for the day
   • Turn on and check ovens, warmers, transportation equipment, and other items needed for morning production
   • Review the daily schedule and prepare accordingly
   • Organize supplies needed for the morning
2. Product Quality
   • Execute the heating and holding processes according to KDT procedures
   • Monitor temperatures and maintain proper food safety and quality standards
   • Communicate any product, temperature, equipment, or timing issues or concerns
3. Product Distribution & Delivery
   • Pack and organize products for all deliveries
   • Follow route sheets, pack lists, order specifications, and packing procedures
   • Prioritize orders based on established timelines
   • Ensure orders include all items
   • Stage fulfilled orders for drivers and assist with loading as needed
   • Communicate packing and delivery needs to production teams
4. Product Preparation & Kitchen Support
   • Prepare, assemble, and organize products and supplies for upcoming orders and the following day's fulfillment
   • Assemble sides, paper goods, shipping materials, and other order components as needed
5. Food Safety & Kitchen Organization
   • Comply with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations set by KDT, NYC DOH, USDA, and FDA
   • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production and staging area
   • Complete and document required temperature and food safety checks
   • Report food safety, equipment, product quality, or operational concerns promptly

• Strong sense of timing and ability to manage multiple tasks while keeping work on schedule
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow structured processes, schedules, and step-by-step instructions
• Comfortable working independently
• Strong attention to order accuracy, product quality, and consistency
• NYC Food Protection Certificate is a plus

• Previous experience in a kitchen, food production, fulfillment, catering, or similar hands-on environment 
• Must be reliable and consistently punctual, particularly for early morning shifts.
• Comfortable working an early morning schedule and maintaining focus throughout a structured production workflow

• Lifting and Carrying | Handling materials, deliveries, containers and boxes; Lifting heavy equipment
• Bending and Stooping | Reaching low shelves, cleaning low areas, and accessing lower storage areas; Performing and checking equipment
• Repetitive Motions | Continuous use of hands and arms for tasks such as assembly and cleaning
• Temperature Extremes and Fluctuations | Exposure to heat from cooking equipment and outdoor spaces, as well as cold from refrigeration and freezer areas; differently temperature-controlled areas in the building
• Fast-paced Environment: Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Multi-tasking | Juggling multiple responsibilities, such as overseeing logistics, monitoring production, ensuring safety and accuracy
