Accountant

AccountantHF Sinclair's Accountant conducts complex accounting assignments for the Accounting department with minimal supervision and acts as resource and lead position for less experienced personnel.Job Duties:Maintains General Ledger Accounts and account reconciliationsPerforms various reconciliations and may perform intercompany billings as neededAnalyzes and manipulates various Company and/or financial data and records at a high levelMonitors the timely completion of routine to complex staff accounting dutiesOversees day-to-day accounting operationsCompletes and may supervise special projects as requiredPerforms inventory valuationsProvides training and guidance to less experienced staffPerforms various assigned financial calculationsMay create, coordinate, and maintain assigned schedulesPrepares and monitors various reports and resolves discrepancies as neededMay review various contracts, invoices and other financial data to ensure accuracyMay record/amortize swaps, hedging and various debt instrumentsExperience:A minimum of five years of job-related accounting work experience is requiredEducation Level: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree, in accounting, finance, or related field is requiredPreferred Educational Level: CPA designation is preferredRequired Skills:Must be able to perform complex accounting analysis and mathematical calculationsMust have advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, experience with accounting, and depending on assignment maintenance softwareA broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures is requiredMust have advanced reading and writing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communicationPreferred Skills:Experience in corporate accounting and SAP FI/CO system experience is preferredSupervisory/Managerial Responsibility:Must be able to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiencyWork Conditions:Office based and occasional work in a petroleum refineryMay be required to work flexible hoursBenefits:HF Sinclair offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of our employees and their families.
